3D Line

You can use this tool to draw 3D lines, 3D splines, 3D rectangles, 3D circles and 3D polygons.

3D Surface

You can use this tool to create planar surfaces of any outline based on existing, closed 3D polylines or by entering new boundary lines for the surface.

Box

You can use this tool to create two types of box: one that is parallel to the coordinate planes, that lie flat in the workspace or on a work plane, and one that is freely positionable in space.

Cylinder

You can use this tool to create cylinders that are parallel to the coordinate planes and that lie flat in the workspace or on a work plan.

Sphere

You can use this tool to draw spheres.

Cone, Pyramid

You can use this tool to create a pyramid-like solid on a planar surface.
If you use a regular polygon with the same number of edges for the base, a conical solid is obtained.

Three-Point Canopy, Four-Point Canopy

You can use this tool to design linear 3D surfaces or 3D solids with three or four corners. A special point about these objects is that they curve downward or upward in the middle, which is the result of triangular decomposition. This way, you can design awning as well connect elements with different heights with a surface or 3D solid and thus create "warped" surfaces and solids.

Extrude

You can use this tool to create 3D solids based on existing 3D surfaces. In addition, you can edit 3D solids by drawing any outline on a surface of the solid and modeling this outline freely in three dimensions. You can even use the outline of an offset surface as the basis.

Extrude Along Path

You can use this tool to create solids or surfaces by extruding an open or closed profile along a path.

Rotate

You can use this tool to create solids or surfaces by revolving a profile about an axis.

Loft

You can use this tool to join two or more open or closed planar profiles to form a single solid or surface. It is not necessary that the profiles have the same number of points or corners. Lines connecting the profiles are not required.

Sweep Path

You can use this tool to create 3D solids or 3D surfaces from at least two profiles that are joined along at least one path. It is not necessary that the profiles have the same number of points or corners.

Offset 3D Polyline

You can use this tool to create polylines consisting of up to nine parallel 3D lines. You can also assign attributes to these lines and use them as conduits, for example.

Concrete construction - 3D object

You can use this tool to design predefined engineering components (e.g. precast columns) in a comfortable and easy manner. You can select the components in a catalog and customize them for your needs using dialog boxes and shortcut menus.

Union

You can use this tool to join several solids or 3D surfaces to form a single 3D element of the same kind. You can also create a volume solid from 3D surfaces (e.g. a box based on six 3D surfaces).

Create Volume from Intersection

You can use this tool to create volumes/surfaces from the intersection of two solids or 3D surfaces. The original solids/surfaces are deleted in the process and new edges are created at the points of intersection (for solids).

Subtract and Remove Solid

You can use this tool to remove the common volume of one solid/3D surface from another. The intersecting solid/3D surface is deleted in the process.

Subtract and Retain Solid

You can use this tool to remove the common volume of one solid/surface from another. The intersecting solid/surface is retained in the process.

Remove Common Volume

You can use this tool to remove the volume common to two solids or the overlapping area of two 3D surfaces.

Create 3rd Solid from Common Volume of 2 Solids

You can use this tool to create a third solid from the common volume of two solids. You can also use this tool to create a third surface from the overlapping area of 3D surfaces; the overlapping area is retained as a discrete 3D surface.

Slice

You can use this tool to slice 3D solids using a plane.

You can also use an existing 3D surface as the plane or a plane you defined with Custom Planes.

Perpendicular

You can use this tool to drop a perpendicular to a 3D line or 3D edge.

Perpendicular to Surface, Plane

You can use this tool to drop a perpendicular to a plane or a surface.

Perpendic. Bisector

You can use this tool to draw a perpendicular bisector on a 3D line or 3D edge.

Angle Bisector

You can use this tool to draw an angle bisector.

Surface’s Center

You can use this tool to determine the center of a surface.

Center of Gravity

You can use this tool to determine the center of gravity of a solid.

Intersect Line, Plane

You can use this tool to determine the point where a line and a plane or a solid intersect.

Parallel Lines

You can use this tool to draw lines parallel to 3D elements.

Parallel Surfaces

You can use this tool to draw surfaces parallel to existing ones.

Unfold Shell

You can use this tool to interactively unfold a 3D entity.

Convert Elements

You can use this tool to convert Allplan elements to different types of elements. The data are converted in the current document.

Copy, Convert Elements Across Drawing Files

You can use this tool to convert architectural elements and reinforcement to different types of elements. The selected elements are copied to a different drawing file before they are converted.

Use

Intersect 2 Entities

You can use this tool to extend or shorten two 2D or 3D elements to the point where they intersect. The connected elements can be trimmed.
Note: You can edit only 3D elements (lines, arcs, splines) that are in the same plane. They must not be parallel or warped.

Fillet

You can use this tool to fillet two intersecting 2D or 3D elements.
Note: You can edit only 3D elements (lines, arcs, splines) that are in the same plane. They must not be parallel or warped.

Chamfer

You can use this tool to chamfer the angle between lines, polylines and segments of polylines in 2D and 3D.
Note: You can edit only 3D elements (lines, arcs, splines) that are in the same plane. They must not be parallel or warped.

In the case of continuous polyline segments, a new polyline segment is inserted. In the case of non-consecutive polyline segments, the polyline segments in between are deleted.

Combine Lines to Make Polylines

You can use this tool to join connecting 2D and 3D lines or polylines, thus making a single polyline. The automation is interrupted at branches and you can decide which branch to follow. In the case of elements with different format properties (e.g., line color), you can define the format properties for the new polyline in a dialog box.
Note: With this tool, you can edit only lines and polygons. You cannot use it for arcs. The 3D elements can be in different planes, but they must be continuous.
You can also use this tool to join architectural elements like baseboard (Rooms, Surfaces, Stories module), building boundaries (Urban Planning module) and hedges (Landscaping module) later. The new element automatically assumes all the properties of the element you clicked first.

Split Polylines into Discrete Lines

You can use this tool to split a 2D or 3D polyline into discrete lines. The lines assume the format properties of the original element.

Modify Edge Offset

You can use this tool to change two or more edges of a polygonal 3D solid or 3D surface by entering an offset. The edges must lie in the same plane.

Fillet Edge

You can use this tool to fillet some or all edges of a 3D solid by entering a radius.

Chamfer Edge

You can use this tool to chamfer some or all edges of a 3D solid by defining an offset.

Delete Surfaces

You can use this tool to delete surfaces in 3D solids.

Rotate 3D Elements

You can use this tool to rotate elements.

Rotate 3D Entities

You can use this tool to rotate 3D entities freely in space without entering any angles.
The reference units for the rotation are the fixed point, the direction change of a vector between the fixed point and the direction points as well as the direction change of a second vector between the fixed point and auxiliary direction points.

Resize 3D Entities

You can use this tool to resize 3D entities by specifying a resizing factor and direction.

Assigning custom surfaces to 3D, architectural elements

You can use this tool to assign custom surfaces to 3D surfaces, 3D entities and architectural elements. These surfaces are then displayed in the Animation module.

Collision Check

You can use this tool to check whether selected 3D objects, architectural objects, SmartParts, smart symbols, fixtures or bar reinforcement collide.

Mark Critical Model Data

You can use this tool to find critical model data (3D entities and architectural elements) in the current document or drawing file or in all drawing files that are open in edit mode. Critical model data cause problems in animation, hidden line images, associate views and, above all, in sections.
