Cylinder

You can use the Cylinder tool to create cylinders that are parallel to the coordinate planes and that lie flat in the workspace or on a work plan.

To create a cylinder that is parallel to the coordinate planes

1. Click Cylinder (How).
   

   Activate Cylinder in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

   • Configuration: Design Basic 3D Elements flyout
2. To draw the circle as the base of the cylinder:, select one of the following options in the Input Options:
   • Circle based on center
     Define the circle based on the center point and radius.
   • Circle based on 2 points
     Define two points through which the circle is to pass.
   • Circle based on 2 points and radius/diameter.
     Click the points of the circle or the elements that are to be at a tangent to the circle.

     Tip: You can undo the entries you have made step by step by clicking Back in the Input Options.

3. Enter the base of the cylinder as specified in the Input Options.
4. To define the height of the cylinder, do the following:
   • Enter a value at the keyboard. When you enter a positive value, the cylinder is created in the positive Z direction (upwards); when you enter a negative value, the cylinder is created in the negative Z direction (downwards).
   • Click a point in 3D view.

     Allplan creates the cylinder.

Note: You can create cylinders that are positioned freely in space on an inclined Work Plane or on an inclined surface (using Extrude - Extrude Circle). You can also adjust these cylinders later. To do this, use Rotate 3D Entities.
