Module(s): 3D Modeling
Using Sweep Path, you create 3D solids or 3D surfaces from at least two profiles that are joined along at least one path.
Note: It is not necessary that the profiles have the same number of points or corners.
Note: It is not necessary that the paths have the same number of points or corners. However, they must have the same orientation.
Note: If paths intersect, there must be at least two paths that do not touch. Otherwise, Allplan cannot calculate the sweep path.
Tip: Allplan executes the Sweep Path tool without deleting either profiles or paths. It is a good idea to draw the basic elements in a separate drawing file. You can then open this drawing file in edit mode and create the surfaces or solids in the current drawing file.
To create a solid from profiles and paths
Note: The profile can be open or closed. It must be continuous and it must not intersect. If the profile consists of several elements you cannot select with one click, you can use the Brackets to select them.
Note: You can even use edges of existing elements for the profile or path.
Note: The path must be continuous. It must not intersect. If the path consists of several elements you cannot select with one click, you can use the Brackets to select them.
Allplan creates a preview of the solid and opens the input options.
Note: If the profiles and paths selected result in an intersecting solid, Allplan will issue a message. Change the basic elements so that Allplan can calculate the solid or surface.
Note: The Rotation and Resize options are only available if you have defined fewer than three paths.
Allplan creates the general 3D solids or surfaces without deleting either the profiles or the paths.
Note: Solids and surfaces get the color set on the Format toolbar.
