Intersect 2 Entities

You can use the Intersect 2 Entities tool to extend or shorten two 2D or 3D elements to the point where they intersect. The connected elements can be trimmed.

Note: You can edit only 3D elements (lines, arcs, splines) that are in the same plane. They must not be parallel or warped.

To intersect 2 entities

  1. Click Intersect 2 Entities (How).
  2. To shorten or lengthen the elements automatically, click Trimming in the input options.
  3. Click the first element.
  4. Click the second element.

    When Trimming is not selected, the elements are lengthened as far as the point where they intersect; they are not shortened.

    Or

    When Trimming is selected, the elements are lengthened and/or shortened. The parts of the elements you clicked are retained.

Note: If you click the individual entities in a polyline or composite element, the way the elements intersect depends on the setting of Trimming in the Input Options:
