Editing element

Module(s): Precast Slab + Precast Wall + Structural Precast Elements

You can use the Edit Element tool to edit single elements in a special screen display and send output to the printer/plotter. This allows you to draw fixtures or additional reinforcement, create a table, generate element dimensions automatically, or make individual reinforcement elements visible or invisible.

To edit or print individual elements

  1. Click Edit Element (How).
  2. Click Delete elements edited on the Edit Element Context toolbar if you want to delete elements edited in earlier versions, which still saved manual additions.
  3. Select the relevant elements or enter the mark number in the dialog line if the Selection with mark number option is enabled.
  4. Click Delete elements edited again to finish deleting elements edited.
  5. Click the relevant element in plan or enter the mark number in the dialog line if the Selection with mark number option is enabled.

Now the workspace is divided into two windows. A view of the selected element is displayed in the window on the left.

  6. On the Edit Element Context toolbar, select the elements to be displayed (see also: Configuration).

You can add a table, generate element dimensions automatically and show or hide the following elements:
Reinforcement at top or side of design identifier
Reinforcement at bottom or side opposite design identifier
    Longitudinal bars
    Cross bars
    Additional bars
    Lattice girders
    Additional girders
    Shear girders
    Loose bars
    Assembly bars
    Basic meshes
    Additional meshes
    Bent-up meshes
    Stirrup cages
    Fixtures
    Panel components
In addition, you can print the element plan, model precast elements and model connections.
In the Precast Wall module, you can modify the bending shapes at any edges and use the tool to adjust the span direction to the bottom of an element.

  7. You can edit the selected element as you need.
Clicking Additional Reinforcement, Fixture, Fixture from Article Catalog, Methods for Placing Fixtures or Modify/Label Reinforcement selects these tools straight from the context toolbar.
Click Mesh Welding System Editor to open the reinforcement editor for the selected element(s).
You can carry out a Collision Check for thermal walls.
  8. Click Delete elements edited if you want to delete any changes you have made.
  9. To select another element, click it in plan or enter its mark number in the dialog line if the Selection with mark number option is enabled.
  10. The viewing area remains open when you quit the tool. This way, you can quickly change to a different module. If you do not need this view any longer, click 1 Viewport. Any elements you have added manually to the layout (text, dimension lines, ...) or additional views and sections will be lost. Please note that these elements are irrecoverable.

If you want to retain layout elements or views and sections added manually to elements, use the Element Plan tool.

Note:
You can also use a selection rectangle or the bracket feature to select several elements for editing. Click View in the input options to select the element you want to view.
