You can use the Fixture tool to select defined fixtures in a folder and place them in the document.

To place a fixture or fixture group

1. Click Fixture (How) in the Fixtures module
   or
   Click Fixtures (How) in the Precast Slab or Precast Wall module and select Fixture on the context toolbar.
   

   Activate Fixtures in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Precast Factories Precast Floor/Precast Wall/Structural Precast Units

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Precast Floor

   Precast Wall

   Structural Precast Units

   

   Activate Fixtures in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Fixtures

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Fixtures

2. In the Fixtures palette, click the Office, Project or Private folder and then the folder with the fixture, fixture group or dynamic group fixture you want to select.

   If you have already selected a fixture, the Fixtures palette opens with the last folder you selected.
   The navigation field at the top indicates the folder you are currently working in. Back takes you up one level in the hierarchy; use Find to find a name in the current folder.

3. In the Font size area, you can define how text in the fixture is to behave. If you want, you can now select a fixture in the lower part of the palette. The preview shows the selected element.

   Note: Use View in the Preview or Selection area to define the view for the preview. The view is independent of the view set in the viewport.

4. Click OK to confirm the Fixtures palette or double-click the fixture you want to place in the lower part of the palette.
5. Answer the prompts in the next dialog box.
6. Place the fixture, fixture group or dynamic group fixture in plan view or in a view (see Edit Element (in the Precast Slab or Precast Wall module).
   Adjust the geometry of the dynamic group fixture.
7. Place the plan text associated with the fixture or fixture group.
   

Notes:

• If the Place instance of smart symbol on current layer setting is active in the Smart symbols area on the Smart symbols and symbols page in the Options, the admin elements of symbol fixtures and the linear and surface fixtures get the layer that is currently active when you place them, regardless of the setting you make when you save them.
  This setting does not affect the layers of the foils of the symbol fixtures.
• You can use the Replace Fixtures tool to replace Allplan fixtures you have already placed with other Allplan fixtures or manufacturer-specific fixtures.
