Allplan Exchange dialog box

You can use the Layout Attributes dialog box (How) to define and manage the attributes of layouts (for example, display mode, hierarchic code, layout type, layout index and so on). When selecting layouts, you can filter them by these attributes.

You can find more information in "Defining and managing layout attributes". Information on the individual attributes is provided in "Overview of available layout attributes".

Tip: Alternatively, use the Properties of layout dialog box to assign attributes (see "Assigning attributes to layouts").

Toolbar at the top

Find layout name

You can apply a filter that will select layouts whose names contain a specific character string only (see "Filtering the layout structure").

Refresh layout structure

Updates the layout structure displayed (see "Updating the layout structure displayed").

It is advisable to regularly refresh the layout structure in particular when you are working in a workgroup environment and several users are involved in the same project or layout structure.

Show index table or Hide index table

Shows or hides the Index attributes table in the bottom part of the dialog box (see below).

Area on the left: Layout structure

The layout structure is displayed in accordance with the structure you defined for the project in the Layout module. You cannot change the layout structure in this dialog box. To do this, switch back to the Layout module.

Project

Displays the current project.

You cannot change the project in this dialog box. To switch to a different project, close Allplan Exchange dialog box and use the New Project, Open Project tool (see "Selecting the current project").

Structural level (= layout folder)

Displays the hierarchic structure of the project consisting of structural levels or layout folders. Each structural level can contain both layouts and additional structural levels or layout folders. Selecting or canceling the selection of a structural level automatically selects or cancels the selection of all the elements that are subordinate to this structural level.

Layout, Linked layout

Displays the layouts and linked layouts with the names you assigned in the Layout module.

Select the check boxes of the layouts you want to send. You can display a pictogram-like preview of a layout by pointing to the Layout or Linked layout icon.

Tip: You can add custom layout attributes to the predefined ones (see "Defining your own layout attributes"). Details on using the Layout attributes table are provided in "Working with the Layout attributes table".

Editing status (only available in a workgroup environment)

Editing status of layout:

Layout number

Displays the layout number in accordance with the layout number selected in the Layout module.

Layout name

Displays the layout name in accordance with the name specified in the Layout module.

Display mode

You can select one of the display modes provided.

Tip: You can add custom entries to the Display mode attribute (see "Adding custom properties to predefined attributes").

Layout type

You can select one of the layout types provided.

Tip: You can add custom entries to the Layout type attribute (see "Adding custom properties to predefined attributes").

Scale

You can enter the layout scale freely or select a scale from the predefined values.

Tip: You can add custom entries to the Scale attribute (see "Adding custom properties to predefined attributes").

Layout description

You can enter the layout description.

Created on

You can enter the creation date freely or select it using a calendar.

Created by

You can enter the person who created the layout.

Width / Height

Displays the width and height of the layout as specified in the Set Up Page dialog box

Layout format

You can enter the layout format freely or select a format from the predefined values.

Tip: You can add custom entries to the Layout format attribute (see "Adding custom properties to predefined attributes").

Index

Displays the index in accordance with the characters specified for the last layout index in the Index column of the Index attributes table.

Index date

Displays the index date in accordance with the date specified for the last layout index in the Index date column of the Index attributes table.

Index created by

Displays the person who created the index in accordance with the entry for the last layout index in the Index created by column of the Index attributes table.

Hierarchic code

Enter or select a value from the predefined values if you want to import Allplan layouts to BOS Document Manager.

Tip: You can define custom entries for the Hierarchic code attribute (see "Adding custom properties to predefined attributes").

Layout user attribute 1 ... 20

You can define up to 20 custom layout attributes (see "Defining your own layout attributes").

Area at bottom right: "Index attributes" table

The index table is only visible when you have selected Show index table (toolbar at the top; when selected, the Hide index table button is displayed). You can see the index attributes of the layout that is currently selected in the Layout attributes table (only one layout can be selected at any one time).

You can only edit the index attributes of the layout when the relevant layout is marked with the Layout is locked symbol. When the layout is marked with the Layout locked by another user symbol (only possible in a workgroup environment), the index attributes of the layout cannot be edited at the moment. Wait until this user unlocks the layout again.

Index type

You can choose between a (main) index and a subindex.

Subindexes are not taken into account when it comes to index numbering in the Index column of the Layout attributes table.

Index

You can enter any character combination for the name of the index.

The name you enter here for the last (= bottom) main index (subindexes are not taken into account) is transferred to the Index column of the Index attributes table.

Index date

You can enter the index date freely or select it using a calendar.

The date you enter here for the last (= bottom) main index is transferred to the Index date column of the Index attributes table.

Index created by

You can enter the person who created the index.

The person you enter here for the last (= bottom) main index is transferred to the Index created by column of the Index attributes table.

Index note

You can enter a note or comment on the index.

Checker date

You can enter the date the layout was checked or select it using a calendar.

Checker note

You can enter a note or comment of the person who checked the layout.

Approval name

You can enter the name of the person who approved the layout.

Note general

You can enter a general note, for example, on the layout status or approval state.

Toolbar at the bottom

Project attributes

Opens the Project attributes dialog box you can use to define and manage the project attributes of the current project (see "Defining and managing project attributes").

Buttons

Apply (important when working in a workgroup environment)

Transfers the current layout attributes or changes to the layouts that are currently locked.

Important: Other users in the workgroup environment cannot see the changes until you click the "Apply" button!

OK

Carries out the current operation or confirms all changes. The current entries and/or settings are applied and saved.

Cancel

Cancels the current operation and discards all entries and/or changes.
