Working with the "Layout attributes" table

Defining and managing layout attributes / Layout Attributes dialog box

You can do the following in the Layout attributes table:

 

 

Selecting columns

Except for the Editing status, Layout number and Layout name columns, you can show and hide the individual columns in the Layout attributes table.

To show and hide columns

  1. Click in the table with the right mouse button.
  2. The shortcut menu opens. Choose the columns you want to include in the table by clicking the relevant entries.
  3. Click anywhere outside the shortcut menu.

    The table updates in accordance with the settings you have specified.

     

     

Defining the sequence of columns

Except for the Editing status, Layout number and Layout name columns, you can rearrange the columns within the Layout attributes table.

To change the column sequence

  1. Click the column you want to move and keep the mouse button held down.
  2. Now drag the column to the new position and release the mouse button.

     

     

Sorting layouts

You can sort the layouts listed in the Layout attributes table by the entries of a column alphabetically in ascending or descending order.

To sort the layouts

  1. Click the head of the column whose entries you want to use to sort the layouts.

    Note: If you have filtered out layouts (= grayed out, see below), these layouts are sorted separately.

  2. Click the same column head again to reverse the sorting sequence.

     

     

Filtering layouts

You can filter the layouts listed in the Layout attributes table by the entries of a column.

To filter the layouts

  1. Move the cursor to the head of the column whose entries you want to use to filter the table and point to the right edge of the column head so that the Filter symbol appears.
  2. Click the Filter symbol.
  3. A shortcut menu opens.

    Click to select the entries you want to use to filter the layouts.

  4. Click anywhere outside the shortcut menu.

    The layouts you have filtered out are displayed in gray and moved to the end of the table. The Filtered symbol in the column head indicates that a filter is set.

    Note: When you sort the layouts afterwards, layouts you have filtered out are sorted separately.

To remove a filter

  1. Click the Filtered symbol in the head of the relevant column.
  2. Click all the entries on the shortcut menu to remove all the check marks.
  3. Click anywhere outside the shortcut menu.

     

     

Removing layouts from the "Layout attributes" table

To make things more apparent on screen, you can remove layouts you no longer need from the Layout attributes table.

To remove layouts from the table

  1. Select several layouts in the Layout attributes table by pressing and holding down the CTRL or SHIFT key.
  2. Click one of the selected layouts with the right mouse button and select Remove layout on the shortcut menu.
