Parameters for definition ranges

Tool(s): Definition Ranges + Modify Definition Ranges

You can define parameters for the definition range on four tabs: Attributes, Loads, Reinforcement and Additional Reinforcement. If the basic reinforcement of all the precast elements belonging to the current definition range consists of attached reinforcement, the Attached Reinforcement at Bottom and, if necessary, Attached Reinforcement at Top tabs are also displayed.

The element parameters of the first three tabs are applied to all precast elements belonging to the definition range as soon as you confirm the entries. It is enough if the precast element and the definition range have a single point in common.

'Attributes' tab

General

Factory

Select a factory you have defined in the Factory catalog in the Catalogs.

Panel type

You can change the panel type for hollow core element, prestressed hollow core element, TT slab, BubbleDeck, Cobiax slab, concrete brick slab and suspended brick slab.

Slab thickness

Total slab thickness including in-situ concrete.

Panel thickness

You can increase the panel thickness of individual elements to account for local conditions, for example.

Concrete grade

Select a concrete grade in the catalog.

Exposure class

Enter the appropriate exposure class.
You need to include the exposure class in reinforcement drawings according to DIN 1045-1, section 4.2.1 (3). Among other things, cement formulation, minimum concrete cover and minimum concrete strength grade depend on the exposure class.

Fire resistance classification

Select the fire resistance classification you need in the catalog for BubbleDeck and Cobiax slab.

Cutting edge / stop position

You can define the cutting edge or stop position for hollow core element, prestressed hollow core element, TT slab, BubbleDeck, Cobiax slab, concrete brick slab and suspended brick slab.

Additional text

Complementary text for mark number.

Filling objects

Material

Select the insulation material in the catalog.

Rounding value for length

Lengths are rounded down to this value.

Offsets

Offsets to filling objects.

Spreader ribs starting at element length

Minimum length above which the program creates spreader ribs.

Number of spreader ribs

Specify how many spreader ribs are created: one, two or none at all.

Spreader rib number

Use the buttons to select the corresponding spreader rib and and define the Rib width and Offset as an absolute value or as a fraction of the length.
The offset of the first spreader rib is based on the element edge and the offset of the second spreader rib on the edge of the first spreader rib.

Delete element(s)

When you select the Delete element(s) option, you can delete all the precast elements belonging to the current definition range. The elements are created again when you delete the definition range.

Element states and actions

You can change the element states and actions determined by the program.

Additional attributes

This area is only available when you have defined entries in the configurations. To select an attribute or cancel its selection, select or clear the check box in the line of the attribute name. You can change the attributes presented here. The defaults are defined in the configurations.

The attributes can be analyzed as follows:

Note: In the case of prestressed hollow core elements, the first attribute is predefined. The panels are labeled with the text entered for the selected attribute. This way, you can specify whether or not there are drainage holes in the panels.

'Loads' tab

Permanent load (g)

Load on floor structure in [kN/m2].

Important: the deadweight of the slab is added automatically!

Live load (p)

Imposed load in [kN/m2].

Live load type

When you have set a standard based on EuroCode (DIN 1045-1, EC2 or OEN-B4700, for example) in the basic parameters, the following load classes are available:

A detailed definition of the imposed load is necessary for structural calculations, which differ depending on the factor that is included in order to account for the imposed load.

Snow load

Snow load in [kN/m2].

Structural item

Name for structural calculations.

'Reinforcement' tab

General

Concrete cover at bottom/at top/lateral

Concrete cover of bottom reinforcement at bottom for half floor, BubbleDeck, Cobiax slab and brick slab; concrete cover of reinforcement at bottom and top for other slab types. Lateral concrete cover can be defined for BubbleDeck and Cobiax slab only.

Beam type

Select a beam type in the catalog.

Reinforcement

Generate based on

Specify whether the reinforcement type or required bar cross sectional area is used to create the reinforcement.

Reinforcement type

If the reinforcement is created (manually) based on the reinforcement type, select the reinforcement type.

Req. as_x/as_y at bottom / Req. as_x/as_y at top

If the reinforcement is created based on the as value, enter the required bar cross sectional areas in [cm2/m]. The program automatically determines the correct reinforcement type.

Shortening 2./3. longit. dm.

Shortening of the second or third longitudinal bar diameter in the catalog (as a percentage of the panel length).

'Additional Reinforcement' tab

The additional reinforcement is created directly under the defined area as soon as you confirm the entries made. If a definition range projects out above the edges of the element, the additional reinforcement is created up to the element edges. The support overlaps and the bending shapes are then taken from the element edges and applied to the additional reinforcement.

Number of reinforcing bars

Enter the number of reinforcing bars to be created. The parameter lines for additional reinforcement are displayed as soon as you enter a value larger than 0.

Reinforcement number

If you have specified more than one additional reinforcing bars, you can use to switch between the different reinforcing bars.

'Attached Reinforcement at Top/Bottom' tabs

General

Assembly bars

You can specify whether and where assembly bars are created.

Offsets

You can specify the minimum and maximum axis and edge offsets of longitudinal bars and cross bars. The entries you make are used to calculate the bars of the attached reinforcement.

Graduation parameters

Stagger longitudinal bars

When set to [Yes], the largest possible number of longitudinal bars is shortened by the values specified (shortening percentage or shortening value - start/end); however, at least 50% of the bar cross-sectional area (as_req) extends up to the support. The shortening value is based on the start or end of the bar.

Percentage of longitudinal bars

Enter the percentage of the longitudinal bars.

Shortening

Specify whether shortening is calculated as a percentage or based on fixed values.

Shortening percentage

Enter the shortening percentage provided you have set the 'Shortening' option to 'percentage'.

Shortening value - start/end

Enter the corresponding values provided you have set the 'Shortening' option to 'fixed'.

Alternating shortening

When set to [Yes], the program attempts to alternately shorten the longitudinal bars at the start and end or to extend them up to the support.
