Modifying definition ranges

Modifying elements using the Properties palette

You can modify the current parameters of the selected definition range using the Properties palette.

Right-clicking in the input area of the palette opens a shortcut menu where you can show and hide the graphics at the top of the palette and the description at the bottom.
In addition, you can add the currently selected area or parameter to the quick input list and move QuickInput to the top of the palette so that it is the first tab displayed in the palette. Similarly, you can remove the currently selected area or parameter from the quick input list. As soon as you remove the last parameter from the quick input list, the QuickInput tab is hidden. To make sure that QuickInput is always open when the palette starts, select Start with QuickInput on the shortcut menu.

To modify definition ranges

  1. Select one or more definition ranges and click Definition ranges in the list box at the top in the Properties palette
    or
Double-click a definition range or its label with the left mouse button.

If you have selected several definition ranges, the identical parameters and values of the ranges are displayed. In the case of different parameters, varied is displayed or nothing at all.

  2. Using the Properties tab, you can change the settings for the label, the text display options, the Line, Pen and Color, the surface elements and the Priority. Using the other tabs, you can change the parameters of the selected definition ranges.

Changes cause existing labels to be deleted.

  3. Press ESC to apply the changes and place the new label, if necessary.

If you have used the Properties palette to make the modifications, the label is deleted but it is not created again. In this case, you can create a new label manually by clicking the definition range with the right mouse button and selecting Label on the shortcut menu.

Note: You can use Match to match the parameters of a different definition range.
You can use Reset input parameters to replace a part of the existing parameters with the settings made in the configuration.
You can use Save as a favorite to save the settings and Load favorite to read the settings back into the palette, where you can modify them. Click Favorite QuickSelect to select from the five favorites you have used most recently.
