Boundaries are created at the intersection points of parametric lines or directly at parametric points as a consecutive sequence of points. The connections of these points form a closed polyline, which describes the cross section area.
A special functionality is assigning a thicknessto a boundary, whereat on both sides symmetrically to the boundary (which is now the middle line) outer lines are created, which compose the new, actual boundaries. The assignment of the thickness is done in the Property window after creating the boundary, which moreover can be done by means of variables. Further, using the Auto Extrusion function these outer lines of open boundaries thus created can automatically be extended at the begin and end to the intersection point with other already existing boundaries. A boundary with an assigned thickness defines even as an open boundary a valid cross section area.
Boundaries can be combined with each other by various operations (Plus-combination, Minus-combination, Include-combination).
