Asymmetric chamfer at boundary point
Insert/Change an asymmetric chamfer at a boundary point by two distances (=distances from the corner point of the boundary to the corner points of the chamfer)
To insert an asymmetric chamfer at a boundary point
- Click asymmetric chamfer.
- Click the boundary point, at which you want to insert the asymmetric chamfer.
Note: If you click a boundary line, the starting point of this line is selected.
- Move the mouse in the desired direction along one of the adjacent boundary lines to draw the first distance of the chamfer and input the desired distance in the appearing text box. Alternatively, you can define the length of the distance directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.
- Move the mouse in the desired direction along the second adjacent boundary line to draw the second distance and the edge of the chamfer and input the desired distance in the appearing text box. Alternatively, you can define the length of the distance directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.
- In the Property window you can optionally define the directions, in which the two distances should be measured (along the adjacent boundary lines (default), in horizontal or vertical direction).
Note: You can assign variables to the distances instead of the constant values (in the same way as for a parametric line).
To change the distance of an asymmetric chamfer
- Click asymmetric chamfer.
- Click the chamfer itself or the boundary point, where you want to change the chamfer.
- Move the mouse in the desired direction along one of the adjacent boundary lines to draw the first distance of the chamfer to be changed and input the desired distance in the appearing text box. Alternatively, you can define the length of the new distance directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.
- Move the mouse in the desired direction along the second adjacent boundary line to draw the second distance and the edge of the chamfer to be changed and input the desired distance in the appearing text box. Alternatively, you can define the length of the new distance directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.
- Directly change further asymmetric chamfers at boundary points (back to 2.) or quit the tool with ESC.
