Symmetric chamfer at boundary point

Insert/Change a symmetric chamfer at a boundary point by a distance (=distance from the corner point of the boundary to the corner point of the chamfer)

To insert a symmetric chamfer at a boundary point

  1. Click symmetric chamfer.
  2. Click the boundary point, at which you want to insert the symmetric chamfer.

Note: If you click a boundary line, the starting point of this line is selected.

  3. Move the mouse away from the boundary point to draw the edge of the chamfer to be created and input the desired distance in the appearing text box. Alternatively, you can define the length of the distance directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.

Note: In the Property window you can afterwards assign a variable to the distance instead of the constant value (in the same way as for a parametric line).

  4. Directly insert further symmetric chamfers at boundary points (back to 2.) or quit the tool with ESC.

To change the distance of a symmetric chamfer

  1. Click symmetric chamfer.
  2. Click the chamfer itself or the boundary point, where you want to change the chamfer.
  3. Move the mouse away from the chamfer or the boundary point to draw the edge of the chamfer to be changed and input the desired distance in the appearing text box. Alternatively, you can define the length of the new chamfer directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.
  4. Directly change further symmetric chamfers at boundary points (back to 2.) or quit the tool with ESC.
