Space Allocation Wizard

Rooms exported from Allplan as a xls or txt list can be edited and modified using MS Excel or an editor. When you create a modified space allocation plan (list) in the same drawing file, the program does not generate new rooms. Rather, the existing rooms are detected and updated. If you, however, create the modified space allocation plan in a different drawing file, the rooms are placed in the new drawing file so that the coordinates do not change.

Do the following:

• Use Read rooms from drawing file to transfer the rooms to the Space Allocation Wizard window and save them as a xls-format or txt-format file using Save / Save as.
• Make changes using MS Excel or an editor; the format of the xls or txt file must not be changed.
  A new column, which includes an unique ID for each room, is added to the end of the xls or txt file. This ID should not be changed. Otherwise, new rooms with the same coordinates are created and the rooms thus exist twice in the drawing file.
  • Use Open to open the modified file in the Space Allocation Wizard window. Depending on the selected drawing file, the rooms are created in the drawing file as follows:
  • If the drawing file from which you are reading the rooms is current, the program does not generate new rooms. Rather, the existing rooms are detected and updated.
  • If the rooms are created in a different drawing file, they are placed at the same position as in the original drawing file (the coordinates are retained); any changes you made are taken into account.
