Read rooms from drawing file

Space Allocation Wizard

You can use this tool to enter Allplan data in the Space Allocation Wizard window. All the rooms in the selected drawing file are read.

This data can be saved as xls or txt file using Save or Save as, modified in MS Excel or an editor, opened again and created in drawing files. When you open a space allocation plan (list) that you have exported to and modified in an external program, the existing rooms are updated (provided you create the rooms in the same drawing file).

To transfer rooms from a drawing file to the Space Allocation Wizard window

• Select the Allplan drawing file whose rooms you want to add to the Space Allocation Wizard window.
  If the Space Allocation Wizard is open, you do not need to close it. It is enough if you minimize it.

1. On the File menu, click Read rooms from drawing file.

   The rooms are transferred to the Space Allocation Wizard window.

   Note: Depending on the number of rooms and open drawing files, this can take some time.

2. When all the rooms have been transferred, you can do the following:
   • Edit the rooms using Add room, Modify room or Delete room, for example
   • Save the space allocation plan as a xls or txt file using Save / Save as
