Defining and managing layout index attributes

Defining and managing layout attributes / Creating a new layout index

To define or edit the layout index attributes

  1. If the Index attributes table is not displayed, click Show index table on the upper toolbar of the Layout Attributes dialog box.

You can find the index table below the Layout attributes table in the area on the right.

  2. Please note the following when you are working in a workgroup environment:
Lock the layout whose index attributes you want to define or edit so that it cannot be accessed by other users. To do this, click Lock Layout in the Layout attributes table so that the symbol changes to Layout is locked.

Or, if the layout is already locked:

Select the layout whose index attributes you want to define or edit in the Layout attributes table. Only one layout can be selected at any one time.

Note: If a layout is marked with the Layout is locked by another user symbol, its attributes cannot be edited at the moment. You have to wait until the user in question releases the layout.

  3. If necessary, create a new layout index (see "Creating a new layout index").
  4. Assign or change the required index attributes. Use the options provided by the Index attributes table (see "Working with the Index attributes table").
