Dimension line parameters

You can set the arrowhead size for dimension lines here.

Note: Dimension text and arrowheads are always entered in mm and as absolute values, and they behave like text when you change the reference scale.

You can choose to show or hide the dimension line here.

If a dimension line consists of a series of equal sections and this option is active, a text is issued instead of the dimension text.
You can specify this text in the Options - Dimension Line page - Display area.

In this mode, the values for the elevation dimensioning are always displayed with a plus sign
In the case of other types, the values are not preceded by a plus sign.

In this mode, the elevation symbols and values are placed where you click.

Define the format properties (

Pen,

Line,

Color and

Layer) for the different components of the dimension line:
Dimension line, Extension lines, Symbol and Numbers/text
The settings you make apply to all the components of the dimension line (provided the Same for all elements check box is active for the setting in question).

Font, Text height, Aspect (always select 1 for TrueType fonts; otherwise, they will be distorted), Bold (only for TrueType fonts), Italics and Underline.

When this option is enabled, the system aligns the text and dimension text of a dimension line so that they conform to DIN 1356, i.e. so that they can be read from left to right.

This option applies blanking to the dimension text. It is placed on a fill in background color. This ensures that the dimension text is always visible even if you place it over a pattern or hatching style.

When this option is enabled, the text and dimension text of a dimension line are displayed upside down, regardless of the direction specified in compliance with DIN 1356.

This setting governs the actual distance between the dimension text and its dimension line.

You can enter the distance in [mm] or [inches] (values between -99 and +99 mm). This value defines the distance between the bottom or top of the dimension text and the dimension line.

You can set the unit of dimensioning here.

The dimension text computed by Allplan only appears rounded-off on-screen. For internal calculations, Allplan still uses the original value. To round off dimension text, Allplan uses the value set in [mm] or [inches].

For example:

Round-off value of 5 [mm] 0.1137m 0.115m

Round-off value of 10 [mm] 0.2384m 0.24m

Round-off value of x/4 [inches] 0.12m=4.72" 4 3/4"

Enter the number of decimal places here.

Enter the number of trailing zeroes here. Enter the number of trailing zeroes used to pad out empty decimal places.

Example:

The value 1.01 with:

4 decimal places, 4 trailing zeroes will display as 1.0100

4 decimal places, 2 trailing zeroes will display as 1.01

You can toggle the exponent-style numeric format on/off.

This option is only available when Dim. Text Unit is set to m, cm.

Fraction is only available for the US units ', " and inches.

The decimal places of dimension text are always written as fractions. The denominator of the fraction depends on the setting for Round-off value. Allplan may reduce the fraction.

When you select the Fraction option, Allplan will use the value set as the common denominator for all fractions. In this case, Allplan will not reduce the fraction.

This option is only available in elevation dimensioning mode.

When you enable this check box, the dimension text is preceded by a plus sign (provided the value is positive).

When you disable this check box, the dimension text is displayed without a plus sign.

This option is only available in Elevation dimensioning and Pegging Out mode.

When you enable this check box, zero values are preceded by ±.

You can enter up to 10 characters that are to appear in front of the dimension text.

Example:

NN625

You can enter up to 10 characters that are to appear after the dimension text.

Example:

24cm.

The extension lines stretch so that they are at a set distance from the dimensioned point (reference point). You can enter the distance in Length in mm/inches.

When you select this option, all extension lines get a fixed length and stretch towards the dimensioned points.

Depending on the setting, you can enter a value defining the Offset to reference point or the Predefined length of the extension lines.

Enter a value to define the offset between the dimension lines of a dimension block, for example.

This is where you select the dimension line types displayed in the dimension block when you create dimensioning.

Note: If you want to delete the automatically created dimensions of a view in a single operation, click Delete, activate the dimension lines option in the element filter and specify the region in which the dimensions are to be deleted.

You can copy the parameters of an existing dimension line into the dialog box and modify them, if necessary.
