Defining the default setting for data formats to be used for new contacts

Sending layouts and other files using Allplan Exchange (how to)

When you add a contact to the contact list, the data formats you have specified for the layouts in the Settings dialog box are automatically assigned to this contact. Afterwards, you can customize this default setting for each contact (see "Specifying data formats for contacts").

Important!
When you have selected the PDF format, the program uses the settings you have specified in the Settings dialog box on the Format Settings tab (see "Defining the default setting for data formats") or in the Format settings for ... dialog box (see "Specifying data formats for contacts"). In other words, exporting data using Allplan Exchange overrides the settings for Export PDF Data!
When you have selected the Allplan layout format, on the other hand, the settings you have specified for the Print Layouts tool are retained and taken into account when you export data using Allplan Exchange.

To specify the default for data formats

  1. In the border of the Allplan Exchange dialog box, click Settings at bottom left.

    The Settings dialog box appears.

  2. Specify the default for data formats as described in "Defining the default setting for data formats".
  3. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box.

Or to load a setting you have already defined:

  1. In the border of the Allplan Exchange dialog box, click Settings at bottom left.

    The Settings dialog box appears.

  2. Load the setting from the relevant favorite file as described in "Loading default saved for data formats".
  3. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box.

    The default currently selected or saved is used for the next contact you add to the contact list.
