Frilo Disc module, overview

Introduction

You can use the FE program for discs to calculate and design disc structures as reinforced concrete discs in accordance with the Baumann method. The following disc systems can be calculated:

Freeform discs with 30 recesses maximum. The program idealizes jaggies – stair step-like lines that should be smooth - by applying benching to the rectangular elements.
Up to 40 point or line supports
Any point and line loads in the disc plane
The maximum permitted number of elements is 35 x 70

To calculate the elements, the program uses the finite elements method based on the theory of elasticity. The design of reinforced concrete discs is based on the Baumann method (for rectangular reinforcement meshes). Reinforced concrete discs are calculated based condition I; the elasticity values of the concrete are used.

	Frilo Disc Export-Calculation-Import	You can use this tool to transfer architectural components to the FE program for discs provided by FRILO Software GmbH. The program starts automatically. The program automatically detects the system based on the architectural components. When you exit the program, Allplan generates the results and imports them to the drawing file specified.
	Export Frilo Disc Data	You can use this tool to save architectural components to an ASCII file. You can then import the geometric data of this file to the FE program for discs provided by FRILO Software GmbH, where you can use the data as the basis for calculations.
	Send Frilo Disc File to Email Recipient	You can use this tool to save architectural components to an ASCII file, which you send by email. You can then import the geometric data of this file to the FE program for discs provided by FRILO Software GmbH, where you can use the data as the basis for calculations.
	Export Allplan File for Frilo Disc	You can use this tool to export architectural components and design entities as a DXF file. You can then import the data of this file to the FE program for discs provided by FRILO Software GmbH, where you can use the data as a design aid. This way, you can edit structural changes in the FE program without losing anything.
	Start Frilo Disc	You can use this tool to start the FE program for discs provided by FRILO Software GmbH. When you exit the program, Allplan generates the results and imports them to the drawing file specified.
	Reinforcement Contours	You can use this tool to display reinforcement contours in the current drawing file. This requires a fully completed FEA calculation whose results can be accessed here.
