Additional tools for placing fixtures

Several tools

Specify the point by which the element is attached to the crosshairs.

SymPnt

This setting uses the drop-in point you selected when you defined the element.

Ang=0/?

The element can be placed at an angle of 0 or at any angle (?). When set to ?, you can enter the angle after having placed the element, or you can click a line and match its angle.

Num=1/?

This is where you can choose between a number of 1 and any number (?) of your choice. When you have selected ?, you can place the element multiple times in the workspace.

WS=0/1

Use this to enable/disable an automatic feature that brings a fixture you are about to insert in a wall into the correct position. When you select WS=1, the program automatically rotates the fixture and places it on the inside of the architectural wall.

Note: When you edit elements or work in an element plan (Precast Floor/Wall modules), please bear in mind that the ‘auto-adjust walls’ feature always applies to architectural walls in the 3D model without this having any effect on the views derived for the Edit Element tool or element plan. The required geometric data is only available in the 3D model at once. When you apply the ‘auto-adjust walls’ feature to the views in the Edit Element tool or in an element plan, you may get a satisfactory preview – however, this may also produce unacceptable results! Normally, the correct position is only obtained after you have selected a reference view.
It is therefore advisable to use the Ang=0 and WS=0 (walls are not adjusted) settings when you edit elements or an element plan. In addition, you should enter the fixture in the view to which the angle you enter subsequently is applied.

Size

Use this to define the dimensions of the element.

3D

Use this to rotate the element by predefined values about the x, y or z axis.
Select the Axis of rotation and then choose a Rotation angle. Clicking the Original position button restores the original position of the element.
