You can use the Data Backup menu to back up and restore data.

Note: You can specify the folder used to create and import backups using Configuration - Backup Path. The data is backed up in compressed format.

You should regularly save the data your create with Allplan, preferably on a daily basis. Click Create - Entire folders and select the projects you most recently worked on.

In addition, you should back up your office defaults separately so that you can restore a backup copy of your office defaults independent of your project data (office defaults are not edited as often so that weekly backups should be sufficient). Moreover, be sure to regularly back up the PROJECT.DAT file located in ...\Data\Nemetschek\Allplan\PRJ or, if you are using a network version, in the central file storage folder, which you can select freely. This is particularly important after creation of a new project.

To do so, click Create - Individual files - From any folder, then enter the name of the folder, for example ...\Data\Nemetschek\Allplan\Prj if you are working locally or \Net, if you are working on a network.

• Never use other programs (e.g. Windows Explorer) to delete or copy data from these folders. Doing so means you may have problems once you want to restore the data, because these programs do not know which files need to be backed up together and which settings are crucial for which files.
