Use this to enter the length of the bars to be placed. Three options are provided:

• Enter the value manually or
• Click the edge of a component or a bar to adopt the length of the line clicked.
• Click points to define the start and end of the bar. In the case of individual, span, support and edge reinforcement this also defines the placing angle which is entered automatically.
  

Note: With span, support and edge reinforcement, Allplan proposes the maximum bar length you have specified using the Options, Reinforcement page, Bar reinforcement area. This length can be larger than the actual placement length. If, on the other hand, the placement length is larger than the bar length entered, the bars are joined with the longitudinal lap entered.

Use this to enter the rotation angle of the placement relative to the system angle.

A Horizontal

You can:

• enter the angle manually or
• click an existing line to use its angle of inclination relative to the horizontal.

Use this to enter the reinforcement percentage for the entire placement as bar cross-sectional area per meter or when you have set the placing mode to Bar-Based as the overall bar cross-sectional area of all bars.

Note: This parameter is not available in the Basic Carpet Reinforcement, Span Reinforcement and Mounting Strips tools in the BAMTEC module.

Use this to define the overlap length in the bars’ longitudinal direction.

A Overlap length

The following options are provided:

• Click the box and enter a value. If you entered a value that is different from the standard length, you can still use the standard length, which is presented for selection in the Input options, when you click the data entry box again.
• Click the button and calculate the overlap length.
  

Note: This parameter is not available in the Basic Carpet Reinforcement, Span Reinforcement and Mounting Strips tools in the BAMTEC module.

Use this to define the distance between the outer bars in the placement and the edge of the placing polygon. The following options are provided:

• - sets up the outer bars so that they are flush with the starting edge
• - sets the outer bars at a distance you define from the starting edge
• - sets up the outer bars so that the distance between and the starting and final edges is identical
• - sets the outer bars at a distance you define from the final edge
• - sets up the outer bars so that they are flush with the final edge
• Offset to Starting Edge - enter the distance between the outer bars and the starting edge
• Offset to Final Edge - enter the distance between the outer bars and the final edge

Use this to define the bar shape. Select a shape in the list presented. The position of the bends is dependent on the concrete cover defined beforehand. If you enter the concrete cover at the top, create a bar in the top layer. The bends presented point downwards. If you entered the concrete cover at the bottom, the bends point upwards.

1. In the list box, select a shape for the start and end:
   • Shape 1: Start or End or
   • Shape 2: Start or End or
   • Shape 3: Start or End or
   • Shape 4: Start or End or
   • Shape 5: Start or End or
   • Shape 6: Start or End or
   • Shape 7: Start or End or
   • Shape 8: Start or End or
   • Shape 9: Start or End or
2. The parameters vary depending on the shape you selected.
3. Select a hook at the start and end of the bar, where applicable.
4. Click OK to confirm the bending shape.

You can use this to swap the start and end of a bar placement.

Click / or / to switch the start point. Depending on the selected placing angle, you can choose between

• and or
• and .

Use this to enter the number of the congruent bar layers placed one upon the other.

Note: This function is not available in the Additional Carpet Reinforcement tool in the BAMTEC module.

This button is only available when Reinforce with 3D model is not active.
Use this to define whether the number of bars generated by the placement are to be added or ignored.

Use this to enter the following placing parameters in the dialog box:

In the Mark number area:

• Click Combine to combine all bars within the placing polygon to a single bar group with a single dimension line and mark number.
• Click Same to combine all bars within the placing polygon to bar groups, each with its own dimension line and one and the same mark number.
• Click Different to combine all bars within the placing polygon to bar groups, each with its own dimension line and mark number.

In the Spacing area:

• Click Off to begin each row (in the case of staggered reinforcement) with the selected initial length.
• Click On to begin every second row with the selected initial length and every row in between with the length of the bar.

In the Start length area:

• Click in this box to modify the initial length. This is only possible if optimization is off.
• Click Optimized on if you want the program to calculate the longitudinal overlap or initial length automatically.
  If stagger is off, only bars of the same length are used. This yields the longitudinal overlap.
  If stagger is on, the program calculates the initial length based on the longitudinal overlap specified in such a manner that only bars of the same length are generated.

Use this to define how the program manages the bars internally.

• When set to PP, the placed bars are managed separately. This means that a full schema of each individual bar can be created later.
• When set to m (for Meterage Placing Mode), only the placing lengths are managed. In this case, the creation of a schema merely results in a value showing the number of meters.
  

Note: This function is not available in the Additional Carpet Reinforcement tool in the BAMTEC module.

Use this to define the benching mode within the placing polygon. The following options are provided:

• Click No Benching to fit all the bars in the placing polygon without benching. This setting is represented in the toolbar by the icon.
• Click Horizontal Benching and then the data entry field below to enter a horizontal benching value. This setting is represented in the toolbar by the icon.
• Click Vertical Benching and then the data entry field below to enter a vertical benching value. This setting is represented in the toolbar by the icon.

Use this to define how the bars are displayed. The following options are available:

• : all the bars are displayed.
• : only the bar in the middle is displayed.
• : selected bars are displayed.
• : a selected bar is displayed as unfolded. The program presents the various folding directions for selection. Select the desired setting by clicking.
