Division options

Tool(s): Design, Divisions + Divisions

Select an option in the Divisions Context toolbar. When the design mode is set to Wall panel, you can only set and delete points or define the mark number. If you have selected only one wall, you can modify the horizontal division.

Maximum element length

The program creates wall elements of maximum possible length in or against the direction of the wall. This depends on the visible side you have defined for the wall to be designed. The starting value for the length of the elements is defined by the values entered for Max. length and Max. rotated length in the division parameters. The program reduces the starting value in incremental steps to ensure that the division criteria (max. weight, criteria for openings, ...) are not exceeded.

Note: If the program is not able to find a solution as division in openings is not allowed (Division option is disabled), the program ignores the setting of this option and automatically calculates divisions as if division in openings was allowed.

Examples of dividing walls based on maximum element length

Equal lengths

Divisions are calculated in the same way as for the Maximum element length option. The only difference is that the program uses the "equal element length" for the starting value.
This ”equal element length” is nothing more than the starting value the program uses to calculate the element lengths. The actual element lengths can be shorter (depending on the division criteria (max. weight, criteria for openings, ...) specified).

Note: If the program is not able to find a solution as division in openings is not allowed (Division option is disabled), the program ignores the setting of this option and automatically calculates divisions as if division in openings was allowed.

Dimension line

You can enter individual lengths manually at the keyboard. The residual length of the wall alignment is displayed. You should only use this option if you have not selected more than one wall.

Mirror division

Mirrored version of a division. As openings and points defined for element division are taken into account, the mirrored version may yield different results.

Consider cranes

If you defined one or more cranes and crane locations with the Crane Location tool before starting element design, then by enabling you can have the program take the crane parameters into account in the design of individual panels.

By clicking Set point, you can set division points to influence the results of automatic division.

Set point

Enable this button to place a fixed point for the element design. This point is saved with the placement field and retained even if you modify the wall later. Whether you modify the wall manually or automatically is irrelevant. You can set several division points in a wall. Please note that this tool remains active after you have entered the first point so that you can place more points one after the other. When you quit the tool, the design is calculated again.

Freeze wall division

Click this button if you wish to retain the current division even when you make modifications later. The program automatically places points at all the joints. These points can be deleted again.
Please note that joints in openings added later are retained even if division in openings is not allowed (Division option is disabled).

Delete point

Click this button to erase a set point for element division (see above). Please note that this tool remains active after you have deleted the first point so that you can erase more points one after the other. When you quit the tool, the design is calculated again.

Joint

Use this to set the joint width between the panels (value in mm).

Maximum element weight

You can change the initial value for the maximum element weight. You can also do this in the Properties dialog box.

Mark number

The mark number for the next wall element is displayed. The program always begins with the number 1. Here, you can influence the way mark numbers are assigned. For example, you can configure the program to begin with 101.
The largest possible mark number is 99999999.
