Modifying recesses

Precast Slab module

Slab recesses can be modified as follows:

• You can select individual reinforcement elements (longitudinal bars, cross bars, girders or secondary bars) that should not be cut into at the selected recesses.
• Reinforcement for trimming can be defined for attached reinforcement.
• You can modify the boundary conditions for recesses in hollow core elements and prestressed hollow core elements.
• You can specify whether recesses in TT slabs are treated as rows of openings for light.
• You can define support conditions, bar overlaps and bending shapes for individual recesses.

If you want to alter the geometry of a recess, use Allplan tools such as Stretch Entities.

To modify recesses

1. Click Modify Recesses (How).
   

   Activate Modify Recesses in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Precast Factories Precast Floor

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Precast Floor

2. Select all the slab recesses you want to modify together by clicking them, enclosing them in a selection rectangle or using the bracket tool.

   Note: To modify a single recess, you can also double-click this recess with the left mouse button or open the shortcut menu of the recess and select Properties.

3. The following options are provided for modifying recesses:
   • To define the reinforcement elements that should not be cut at the selected recesses, click Properties and select the relevant reinforcement elements in the Reinforcement tab. Click OK to confirm.
   • To define reinforcement for trimming for attached reinforcement, click Properties, select the Reinforcement for trimming option in the Replace reinforcement in opening list box and define parameters in the Trimming tab. Click OK to confirm.
     Note: When you select Yes in the list box, the reinforcement cut out is added to the sides; when set to No, secondary reinforcement is not placed.
   • To modify the boundary conditions for recesses in hollow core elements and prestressed hollow core elements, click Properties and define parameters in the Design tab. Click OK to confirm.
   • You can specify whether recesses in TT slabs are treated as rows of openings for light or as standard recesses. To do this, click Properties. On the Design tab, select Standard recess or Row of windows for the use. For the second option, enter the Topping slab overlap in the unit of length set. Click OK to confirm.
   • To change support conditions, click the relevant recess edge. Enter the desired conditions in the dialog box. Click OK to confirm.
4. Click OK to apply the changes.
