Boundary conditions for recesses in hollow core elements and prestressed hollow core elements
The following settings only affect recesses in hollow core elements and prestressed hollow core elements.
- Specify whether the criteria for large or medium-sized/small recesses (standard recesses) are to apply. You can define the parameters for small and medium-sized recesses in the panel type catalog for hollow core elements or prestressed hollow core elements.
- You can also create headers. By clicking the Type button, you can set parameters for the header in the Slab Openings dialog box; proceed as you would when creating a header.
- When you enable the Moving/enlarging allowed option, recesses are moved and enlarged so that large recesses without headers are spread over the edges of two neighboring panels and the cutting edges are within the permitted region.
Note: When recesses with headers are created without header later or headers are added to recesses that were initially created without headers, the design of the slab span is recalculated. As a result of moving, valid recesses might become illegal.
You can easily solve this problem by deleting the twin recess that was moved (represented by a continuous line).
Similarly, a recess that was initially moved and then created with a header is moved back to its original position when you delete the twin recess moved (represented by a continuous line).
