Analyzing lateral force and bond
Tool(s): Shear Reinforcement
To analyze lateral force and bond
- Click
Shear Reinforcement (How).The
Select half floors for analyses option is active on the Lateral Force/Bond Analyses Context toolbar.
- Click a slab panel or select several slabs using a selection rectangle. If you have selected slabs of different size, these slabs are divided into groups of the same size. The program issues a message. Points 3 to 6 are the same for each group.
Depending on the setting in the Configurations, the program uses DIN 1045-1:2001-07, DIN 1045-1:2008-08 or DIN EN 1992-1-1:2011-01 for analyses. The selected setting is displayed in the title bars of the dialog boxes and saved with the element.
If you select an element that has already been analyzed, the standard saved with the element is used to analyze the element again. When you select
Restore basic settings, the program reads the standard from the factory configuration. As a result, the standard may differ from that you used before!
- The first dialog box shows all , modifiable panel parameters and calculated shear values.
Note: You can define different concrete grades for the precast element and the in-situ concrete. Allplan always uses the poorer grade for analyses in compliance with the regulations.
- Click OK to confirm the entries.
Notes:
- If the maximum inclination of the diagonal strut is exceeded, the program will issue a message. You can continue with the limit value.
- If neither shear reinforcement nor connecting reinforcement is required in accordance with DIN 1045-1:2001-07, the program will issue a message. You can then place secondary girders manually (for example, in compliance with structural calculations). This is always possible with the other standards.
- If DIN EN 1992-1-1:2011-01 requires you to use the lattice girders as shear reinforcement, the program will issue a message, indicating that they have to cover the full height of the cross-section. This is not checked by the program!
- The second dialog box shows the proposed value for the maximum spacing of the basic girders. You can change this value. The program uses either the maximum spacing for basic girders or twice the minimum edge offset (assuming that the edge offset of the neighboring panel is the same). This value is included in the vRd,sy basic girder, vRd,s basic girder or vRdi,s basic girder variable, having an effect on the shear reinforcement and connecting reinforcement.
In addition, you can configure the program to take into account the existing standard girders separately for the two sides. Furthermore, you can change the parameters of the secondary girders, such as the number of pieces, type, spacing and length.Notes:
- If shear reinforcement is required and the diagonals of the standard girders are less than 45°, the program automatically ignores the standard girders, as this would lead to illegal results.
- By changing the inclination of the diagonal struts within the permitted limits, you can control the maximum lateral force resistance as well as the shift and anchorage value of the secondary girders. Note, however, that increasing the inclination of the diagonal struts reduces the design values for the load capacity of the girders, resulting in more reinforcement.
- Click Cancel to change the parameters in the first dialog box or click OK to confirm the entries. The shear girders are placed.
