Panel parameters

Tool(s): Analysis of Lateral Force and Bond

In addition to the input parameters, which you cannot change here, the program provides further panel parameters. Any changes you make to these parameters have an effect on subsequent analyses of lateral force and bond.

Special loads

You cannot change this option. It is only for information: you know immediately whether special loads act on the panel. (You can create them using the Special Loads tool.) If this option is selected, you must not reduce the lateral force vEd.

Surface property

The surface property you select for a half floor has an effect on the design value for analyzing bond (vRd,ct or vRd,j or vRdi).

If you want to calculate the required reinforcement in compliance with regulations, you must select a rough surface. The program displays a corresponding message if the surface property you select is too smooth.
The program still does the calculation, regardless of the setting. However, you need to make sure that you have actually selected the surface required for the elements.

zeta

You can enter zeta within the following ranges: 0.1 <= kz <= 1.0 The zeta value has an effect on the value for analyzing bond (vEd or vEdi).
The program uses the same value for both sides of a single-span girder without special loads.

If shear reinforcement is required, zeta is calculated based on z = d-2c,nom (in compliance with regulations, z is limited to d-c,nom-30mm).

Increase reinforcement

Longitudinal reinforcement has an effect on the design value for analyzing lateral force (vRd,ct or vRd,c). You can increase the reinforcement, thus avoiding shear reinforcement. You can choose between the following options (only appropriate options are offered for elements for which you have already carried out structural calculations).

With the manually on both sides at bottom and automatically on both sides at bottom options, the program uses the same value for both sides. This also applies to elements without structural calculations, provided you have selected a combination of the manually or automatically at bottom and none options.

Joint under tension

If the joint is subject to tension, for example, with loads acting downwards, this has an effect on the coefficient of roughness and thus on the design value for analyzing bond (vRd,ct, vRd,j or vRdi).
In accordance with DIN 1045-1, the coefficient of roughness is zero.

End support without superimposed load

If a superimposed load does not act on an end support, minimum connecting reinforcement is always required. The existing connecting reinforcement can be included in this minimum reinforcement.
