Cutting mesh

Module(s): Mesh Reinforcement

You can use the Cut Mesh tool to cut one or more meshes. You can adapt the meshes to the component edges or cut a recess into a mesh polygon without actually altering the outline or having to define recesses.
You cannot use this tool to modify MWS meshes. Use the Mesh Welding System Editor tool.

To cut area out of meshes

1. Click Cut Mesh (How).
   

   Activate Cut Mesh in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Engineering Mesh Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Mesh Reinforcement

   • Configuration: Engineering Engineering Modify flyout
2. Click to set the first corner of the area you want to cut out.
3. Set additional points to define the area. If you press ESC after the second point, the area defined is rectangular.
4. Otherwise, enter any number of points to define an area of any shape. Click the first point again to close the polyline.
   The mesh sections inside the area you defined are cut out.

Note: If you modify these cut meshes later using the Modify Placing Geometry or Modify Placement Parameters tool, the program will not take into account the mesh sections created.
