Surfaces and concrete areas

You can use the
Surfaces and Concrete Areas tool to define, modify and delete areas with specific surfaces and concrete grades.
To define, modify and delete surfaces and concrete areas
- Click
Surfaces and Concrete Areas (How). - Select the required structural precast element(s).
The screen is divided into two windows. The View window on the left shows a plan view of the area of the precast element you selected first. The Element window on the right shows the entire precast element. The area you can see in the View window is displayed in the selection color.
- When you have selected several precast elements, you can use
Next precast element and
Previous precast element to select the desired precast element. - Click
Next area and
Previous area to select the desired area of the precast element.
Alternatively, you can select an area directly in the Element window by clicking the associated 3D point symbol at the area's center of gravity. - Specify whether to create or modify surfaces or concrete areas: click
Surfaces or
Concrete areas on the context toolbar.Depending on the option you select, the name and functions of the context toolbar change.
- Click
Surfaces. If necessary, click Surface in the input options, select a surface defined in the surface catalog and specify the outline of the area using the polyline entry tools.
To cover the entire area, click Area full in the input options. - Click
Modify surfaces, select the area you need and select a surface defined in the surface catalog. - Click
Delete surfaces and select the areas you want to delete. - Click
Concrete areas. If necessary, click Concrete grade in the input options and select a concrete grade defined in the concrete grade catalog. Click Parameters in the input options, specify whether the concrete area is created at the Full layer depth or the Custom depth entered, and specify the outline of the area using the polyline entry tools.
To cover the entire area, click Area full in the input options. - Click
Modify concrete areas, select the area you need and select a concrete grade defined in the concrete grade catalog. - Click
Delete concrete areas and select the areas you want to delete.
- Click
Undo to undo the operations you have done within an area without quitting the tool.
Redo redoes operations that you have undone.
Note: If you want to transfer the concrete areas to production, it is essential that you select the 3D polyhedron option for transferring the geometric data.
