Importing TGA files

You can use files in a standard bitmap format as textures for surface files and for bitmap areas in Allplan.
To import a TGA file and use it as a bitmap area
- Download the file.
- Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.
Tip: It makes sense to use the same folder for data of the same format.
- Start Allplan 2016.
- Click
Bitmap Area. - Click
to the right of Bitmap. - Select a folder and file and click Open.
- It is a good idea to save the new bitmap in the design folder of the office standard (...\std\design), too. Click Yes when you see the corresponding question.
- Define the other parameters as you need in the Bitmap Area dialog box.
- Place the bitmap area in the workspace.
To import a TGA file and use it as a texture
- Download the file.
- Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.

- Start Allplan 2016.
- Open a tool you can use to assign an animation surface to an architectural element or solid, for example,
Assign Custom Surfaces to 3D, Archit. Elements. - Click
New surface. - Click the
button to the right of Texture. The Open file dialog box appears.
- Select a folder and file. Then click Open.
- Define surface properties for the texture.
- Click
and save the new surface as a file in SURF format.
