Bitmap area

Module(s): Draft

You can use the Bitmap Area tool to place bitmaps in areas.

Note: There are some particular issues to bear in mind when printing bitmap areas.

To place a bitmap

1. Click Bitmap Area (How).
   

   Activate Bitmap in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Insert
   • Create Draft

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Draft flyout
   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Draft

2. Select the bitmap. Do the following:
   • Click Match and click an existing bitmap area to copy the bitmap with all its properties.
   • Select a bitmap in the Bitmap Area dialog box and define the display parameters. Click OK to confirm the settings.
3. To enter the outline of the area, do the following:
   • The size of the bitmap is only displayed at the crosshairs with the Size in meters setting.
     Click a point. Pressing ESC places the bitmap once at this size.
     If you do not press ESC, you can modify the outline of the bitmap using the polyline entry tools. For example, you can cut out an area.
   • In all other cases, enter the outline of the area using the polyline entry tools.

     Tip: A selected boundary polygon is displayed in the color currently set on the Format toolbar. This is useful if you want to enter areas composed of several parts using the Multi option ( Plus option) or areas with holes ( Minus option): The color of the boundary polygon indicates which area has already been selected.
