Recess, opening in slab

You can use the
Recess, Opening in Slab to insert recesses and openings in slabs and plates. You can choose between a rectangular, round, polygonal (inscribed or circumscribed) and free-form opening. In addition, you can select an opening with an outline saved as a symbol. Slab recesses can be inserted from the top or bottom.
Tip: Modifying shape of recesses and openings in slabs (based on initial settings)
To create a slab opening
- Click
Recess, Opening in Slab (How). - Click the slab in which the opening is to be inserted.
- If you want, you can now change the type and the parameters of the opening.
The context toolbar provides . - Set the opening's .
Tip: You can rotate rectangular openings before you place them by using a or clicking
and entering a cursor snap angle at the keyboard.
- Depending on the shape of the opening, do the following:
Rectangular opening:
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Round opening:
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Polygonal opening (inscribed):
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Polygonal opening (circumscribed):
Click the point where to insert the opening.
Freeform opening:
Enter the outline of the opening as you would a polyline.
Opening with an outline saved as a symbol:
Click the point where to insert the opening.
- Repeat steps 2 to 5 to draw more recesses or openings in slabs or plates. Otherwise, press ESC to quit the tool.
