Resizing text

You can use the Resize Text tool to resize text in the X and Y direction by specifying a factor. The text's reference point serves as the fixed point for the operation.

To resize text

1. Click Resize Text (How).
   

   Activate Resize Text in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Text

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Text flyout
   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Text

2. Select the text you want to resize.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

3. Enter the factor at the keyboard (factors < 1 reduce the text while factors > 1 enlarge it).

Note: You can obtain different results with the Resize Text tool depending on whether the text consists of single lines or paragraph text.
With the Resize tool, only the position of the starting point changes. The text height and width remain unchanged.

Several lines of text are combined into one item in a paragraph text. The spacing between the lines in paragraph text is always correct, regardless of reference scale.
