You mainly work with the shortcut menu and drag-and-drop operations in the Open on a project-specific basis: layouts dialog box. In addition, you can use the following buttons to display and create the layout structure.
Expand selected entries
Expands the view so that all sub-entries of the selected node are displayed.
Collapse All Entries
Hides all sub-entries.
Find
Opens the Find... dialog box you can use to find and replace names or parts of names of layouts and structural levels.
Update
Updates the layouts and their names in the structure after they have been changed by another user while the dialog box is open.
Insert structural level
Creates a layout folder as a new structural level in the layout structure. If the project node, the All layouts folder or a layout is selected when you click this button, Allplan creates the new layout folder at the beginning of the layout structure under the project node. Otherwise, Allplan creates a folder that is subordinate to the selected layout folder.
Assign layouts...
Opens a window from which you can drag layouts to the tree structure. This way, you can assign them to layout folders. Layouts that have already been assigned to a structural level (i.e. you cannot assign them again) are marked by ; named layouts and layouts that are in use are indicated by
and
, respectively. Positioning the cursor over a layout already assigned displays a ToolTip with information on the folder to which this layout is assigned. You can use the shortcut menu to display the layout in the corresponding folder. The layout folder opens and the layout is highlighted in color.
You can sort the layouts by type, number, name or size. Just click the relevant column head. Clicking again inverts the sort direction. The direction is indicated by an arrow.
Import data again
Imports the most recent status of the layout structure you saved to the Allplan_BIM_LayoutStructure.xml and Layout_settings.xml files by clicking Save.
If you have not saved the status after having opened the dialog box, Allplan imports the status of the layout structure that was current when you opened the dialog box.
Save
Saves the current status of the layout structure to the Allplan_BIM_LayoutStructure.xml and Layout_settings.xml files.
When you close the dialog box, Allplan automatically saves the current status of the layout structure.
Settings
You can use this tool to define basic settings for the Open on a project-specific basis: layouts dialog box. For more information, see Settings.

Opens the Layout Attributes dialog box, where you can define layout attributes and access the Project Attributes dialog box.
Reports
Opens the Reports dialog box, where you can create reports of the data managed in Allplan, among other things.
Replace output device in layouts
You can replace the output device with a different one.
