Changing the drawing file status

Open on a Project-Specific Basis

With the drawing file status, you define the drawing file on which you draw and which drawing files are visible and/or can be modified. For more information, see drawing file status.

To change the drawing file status

1. Click Open on a Project-Specific Basis (How).
   

   Activate Open on a Project-Specific Basis... in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: File

   • Keyboard: Ctrl+Alt+O

   • Toolbar: Standard

   Tip: You can also double-click the left mouse button in the workspace.

2. Select the drawing files (in tree view) whose status you want to change.
   

   You select drawing files by clicking the drawing file numbers or the drawing file name.

   • To select a single drawing file, click it.
   • To select a series of non-adjacent drawing files, press and hold down the CTRL key and click the drawing files.
   • To select a range of drawing files, click the first drawing file in the range, then press the Shift key and click the last drawing file in the range at the same time.
   • To select all drawing files, press CTRL+A or click Select all drawing files on the shortcut menu. This selects all drawing files the drawing file view. This selects all drawing files of the current fileset in the tree structure. To undo the selection, click any drawing file or select Clear selection on the shortcut menu.
     Note: If the focus (name is highlighted in blue) is on a drawing file, CTRL+A selects all drawing files of this fileset; if the focus is on a fileset, all filesets are selected.

   Note: In tree view, you can only select several drawing files when they belong to the same fileset.

3. Define the drawing file status in one of the following ways:
   • Click the selection with the right mouse button and select the drawing file status on the shortcut menu.
   • Click one of the three columns.
   • Make use of the space bar. Whenever you press the space bar, the status of the selected drawing files changes in the following sequence:
     off -> open in reference mode -> open in edit mode -> current (the last drawing file you select is set to current; the other ones stay open in edit mode). If a drawing file cannot be open in reference mode (if the drawing file in question is empty and does not have a name), this status is skipped.

Tip: You can also use the shortcut menu to change the drawing file status. Click an element in the workspace with the right mouse button and select Change drawing file status on the shortcut menu.
