Empty structural unit - Beam

Automatically assign a boundary area, i.e. a cross section or part of a cross section, to an empty structural unit of the type beam

This tool is exclusively applicable for cross sections which are defined in accordance with the principle of the Haunch in combination with structural units of the type Composite. It allows to establish a composite definition between the two separately created cross sections of the “deck” and the “girder”.

In doing so, the definition of the composite with the cross section of the “girder” is performed in the cross section of the “deck”. For this purpose, an “empty” structural unit (“placeholder”) for the cross section of the girder is created in the cross section of the deck, with which the definition of the composite can be done as usual. When creating the geometric model, the structural unit of the girder connected to the deck is automatically detected and assigned to the “empty” structural unit.
