Defining a Composite type structural unit

Assigning different structural units of the Bar type to a common structural unit of the Composite type

Note: Definition of the structural units for the composite is only required for the calculation model, but not for the geometric model (e.g. import into ALLPLAN).

Different cross-section parts that belong to a composite cross-section are assigned to a common structural unit of the composite type via their individual structural unit numbers.

E.G.: Steel I-beam (1) + concrete slab (2) = composite cross-section (3)

The individual structural units of the cross-section parts must already be created to be able to define the composite.

For the calculation model, the position of the structural units of all associated cross-section parts must be the same (i.e. the units of all composite parts and those of the composite itself), as a bar element series is generated for each structural unit, which is connected to the same structural node.

To define a Composite type structural unit

  1. Click on Composite structural unit.
  2. Click on the point of intersection of two lines or on a parametric point at which you want to position the structural unit.
  3. Click on all structural units of the Bar type (up to 8 units possible) that are to become part of the composite cross-section, one after the other.

Note: Clicking an already selected structural unit once again deselects it.

  4. Select the Enter key to finish the definition.
  5. Define further structural units of the Composite type directly (back to 2.) or exit the function with ESC.
