Rigid Connection(s)

Use this connection to rigidly connect different structural members with each other.

Depending on the use case, there are various tools which can also be used to create a series of rigid connections in one step.

Interactively, the positions of the rigid connections are determined by selecting the structural members (or rather structural units) and their cross sections at certain stations. From the static point of view, always the structural nodes are considered at the respective selected positions. When creating a rigid connection, the structural node of the beam element where the connections starts is deleted and the end of the beam is connected by a rigid eccentricity with the structural node of the beam element to which the connection goes.

Note: Rigid connections are not directly listed in the tree of the item Structural Supports. They can be displayed in the view window via the menu item List of Rigid Connections of the context menu or via the identical function in the action bar 3D Modeling.
