Create a rigid connection from a structural unit to another structural unit

Optionally, also several rigid connections can be created in one step from one or more structural units of one or more structural members from one or more stations to another structural unit of a structural member.

To interactively create a new rigid connection or a series of new rigid connections between two structural units

1. Right-click on the tree item Structural Supports to open the context menu and select in the menu New Rigid Connection(s) the menu item Unit to unit (RIGIDU2U).

   Note: Rigid connections are not directly listed in the tree of the item Structural Supports. They can be displayed in the view window via the menu item List of Rigid Connections of the context menu or via the identical function in the action bar 3D Modeling.

2. In the view window, click the cross section of the first structural unit (e.g. cross section of the pier) or hold down the SHIFT key and drag a selection box with the mouse over the wished cross sections of several structural units (e.g. cross sections of piles), from which the rigid connection(s) should be set up.

   Note: The structural nodes of the beam elements at the selected positions are deleted in the static model and the end of the beams are eccentrically and rigidly connected with the structural node of the second position (see 3.).

3. In the view window, click the cross section of the second structural unit (e.g. cross section of the girder or pile cap), to which the rigid connection(s) should be connected.
