Use Placements to create objects of the type smart symbol (*.nmk) or PythonPart (*.pyp) at previously defined reference points in ALLPLAN Civil when importing the model in ALLPLAN. These objects have to be stored in ALLPLAN in the project folder of the library. As these reference points are linked to the ALLPLAN Civil model, the objects are parametrically connected and respectively regenerated at each update of the model in ALLPLAN. You can spatially align the objects in advance in ALLPLAN Civil and in case of PythonParts additionally adapt them via their parameters. Optionally, you can also assign variables to these parameters to vary the geometry of the objects to be created along the structural member where they are connected to.
The objects themselves are graphically displayed only in ALLPLAN, whereas in ALLPLAN Civil only the position and orientation of the objects to be connected are shown by a point with three direction arrows (coordinate system).
The objects must be stored in the ALLPLAN library in the folder “Project” and there in the folder of the actual project or in a subfolder of it.
For example: Library -> Project\Bridge_1\[…]
This corresponds to the file path [...]\Prj\Bridge_1.prj\Library of the ALLPLAN project directory. Thus, you can copy there already existing smart symbol or PyhtonPart files. You can manually create the folder “Library” in case it doesn’t exist yet at that time.
In order to access the placement objects it is required that the ALLPLAN Civil project directory is created in a subdirectory of the ALLPLAN project. This is always the case, if you create a new ALLPLAN Civil project from within ALLPLAN. If the ALLPLAN Civil project lies in a directory outside of ALLPLAN and is linked to the ALLPLAN project using the import function, the placement objects cannot be accessed.
