Structural unit - Load

Assign a boundary area to a structural unit of the type load

The elements set up by these cross sections are used as 3D-bodies for modeling and as load or for referencing a load in the static calculation (there are no beam elements created for these elements!).

The position of the structural unit within the cross section has no relevance for the geometrical as well as for the static model.

To use the structural unit as load a material must be assigned to it in the respective submenu of the structural member.

An application for this for example would be the curbs or road surface, which in this way become part of the geometrical model and at the same time can be used for automatically calculating their loads in the static calculation without having to define these numerically in addition. This can be accomplished by using the load type LOADQY and the argument uload.

Another application would be to use the structural unit as a reference area for applying the load with the load type LOADPAZ or LOADPAY.

To assign a structural unit of the type laod to a boundary

  1. Click Structural unit - Load.
  2. Click the intersection point of two lines or the parametric point, at which you want to position the structural unit.
  3. Click the boundary, which you want to assign to this structural unit.
  4. Directly add further structural units of the type load (back to 2.) or quit the tool with ESC.
