Remove/Add Elements

Task area Sections

You can use this tool to remove elements from a view or section or add elements of an 3D object to a view or section.

To remove individual elements from a view or section

1. Click Remove/Add Elements (How).
   

   Activate Remove/add elements in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Sections

   • Menu bar: Create Views, Sections, Details Views and Sections

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Views and Sections

2. Click the view or section from which you want to remove elements.

   Elements you have already removed from the view or section selected appear in the selection color.

3. Select the elements you want to remove.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

   Allplan displays the elements in the selection color, removing them immediately from the selected view or section.

To add elements to a view or a section

1. Click Remove/Add Elements (How).
2. Click the view or section to which you want to add elements.

   Elements you have already removed from the selected view or section appear in the selection color.

3. Select the elements you want to add.

   The elements no longer appear in the selection color; Allplan immediately displays them in the selected view or section.

Notes:

• You can use this tool to show elements in or hide elements from views and sections you saved in a different drawing file or created by means of the building structure. To do this, select the drawing file with the view or section and the drawing file with the model data.
• You can also use this tool to control the visibility settings of fixtures, as the Visibility of Fixtures tool is not available for views and sections of the Sections task area.
• Neither section objects nor clipping paths can be shown or hidden with this tool. To do this, use the Show Clipping Path tool.
• The program automatically updates views and sections when you add elements or remove elements (if the Update automatically option is selected)
