Path

To enter a path as a spline

1. Click Path (How).
   

   Activate Path in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Landscaping

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Landscaping

   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Landscaping flyout
2. Select Area.
3. Click Spline-shaped on the context toolbar.
4. If you want, you can now modify the parameters of the path.
   The context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
5. Enter the control points of the spline. Press ESC to finish.
6. Click in the workspace to define the offset direction of the path.
   

   The offset can be to the left, right or on both sides of the base line.

   

   Key:
   (A) Baseline
   (1) Offset direction left of the base line
   (2) Offset direction right of the base line
   (3) Offset direction on both sides of the base line

   The width you have defined in the parameter settings is used to draw the path.

7. Click in the workspace to position the label; use the tools in the input options.
   

   In the input options click

   • Horiz
     to place the label so that it is horizontal.
   • Vertic
     to place the label so that it is vertical.
   • Angle
     to place the label at an angle.
   • Auto (not with Component Number)
     to place the label so that it automatically reflects the geometry of the selected component (important for window labels with label styles).
   • Resize (not with Component Number)
     to change the size of the label. Enter a factor in the dialog line.
   • Skip (not with Component Number)
     lets you skip the current element.
   • Go (not with Elevation Point)
     to automatically assign labels to all the selected elements. The start point for the text is positioned in the element’s centroid or, in the case of stairs, at the bottom.
