Clipping path, defining a horizontal section

Tool(s): Clipping Path

To define a horizontal section or soffit

1. Click Clipping Path (How).
   

   Activate Clipping Path in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Configuration: Architecture Roofs and Planes flyout
2. If you want, you can now modify the parameters for the section.
   The Context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
   • Select Horizontal section from above in the Type area.
     

     You can choose between Vertical section, Horizontal section from above and Horizontal section from below (for soffits).

   • To create a soffit, select Horizontal section from below.

     Click OK to confirm the settings.

3. Define the area for the horizontal section.
4. Enter a section identifier in the dialog line (only applies if you failed to enter one in the Architectural Section dialog box).
5. To view the section, click Activate Section (How).
   

   Activate Activate Section in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: View
   • Toolbar Viewport toolbar

Note: The label and clipping path symbols can be moved independently of each other.
