Section Display

Tools on the viewport toolbar for controlling on-screen display

Using the Activate Section tool or the Section Display list box, you can display your design in an architectural section (provided you defined its Clipping Path beforehand).

You can select the clipping path in a list box or by clicking the clipping line in the drawing.

Click to switch the section off again.

To display your model in an architectural section

• You have defined at least one visible clipping line using Clipping Path.

1. On the View menu, click Activate Section.
2. Click the clipping line in the viewport (only possible in design mode).

   Or

   Enter the section identifier in the dialog line and press ENTER to confirm.

Or

• On the viewport toolbar, open the Section Display list box and click the section identifier.

Or

1. On the viewport toolbar, open the Section Display list box and click Select....
2. Click the clipping line in the drawing (only possible in design mode).

Note: Before you can place a section in a layout (document), you need to convert the section display of the 3D model to a 2D image and save it in a separate drawing file (document). To do this, use Hidden Line Image, Wireframe. You can only place floor plans and 2D drawings in layouts.

To switch a section off again

• On the View menu, click Activate Section.

Or

• On the viewport toolbar, open the Section Display list box and click Switch section off.
