Recesses configuration entry

Configuration(s): hollow core element: entry + prestressed hollow core element: entry

Check position of openings:

When you disable this option, the program will not check the position of recesses using the settings in the panel type catalogs.
In this case, you cannot modify the boundary conditions for recesses later using the Modify Recesses tool.

Small openings, moving allowed:

Yes: openings that are in the area of the web or that are narrower than the maximum width between two webs and of which an edge is in the cavity (which has to remain empty due to the minimum offset to the web) will be moved to the permitted region between two webs in a direction that is transverse to the span direction. They will be placed at the nearest edge.

Medium-sized openings, enlarging and moving allowed:

Yes: the program will move and enlarge recesses whose widths are larger than the maximum width between two webs and which meet the limits specified in the panel type catalog so that the cut is not located in the illegal region beside or within the web of a panel. They are always moved in a direction that is transverse to the span direction. The program will move these recesses to the nearest edge and will enlarge them up to the limits.

Recesses in midspan or in the lateral region whose offsets to the end face are too small will be moved so that the minimum offset specified in the panel type catalog is met.

Large openings, opt for:

The following regulation applies for recesses that do not meet the limits defined in the panel type catalog. The selected setting is saved with the recess and can be modified later using the Modify Recesses tool. This allows you to create different recesses in a placement field.

Steel header: a fitted panel is created in the area of the recess. Steel headers are used to distribute the load on to the adjoining panels. The recess is enlarged up to the width of a fitted panel.
The program does not automatically use a panel type of larger thickness for the panels beside the recess. You need to do this manually by modifying the panel parameters.

Spread over two panels at the edge: the recess is moved in a direction that is transverse to the span direction so that it is spread over the edges of two neighboring panels. The program will check the limits defined in the panel type catalog for recesses in areas around edges.

No displacement: the recess is neither moved nor enlarged. This usually produces one or more geometrically invalid panels.
