In-wall junction for concrete walls

Tool(s): Connections

You can create user-defined formwork sections at the ends of concrete precast walls. These are the walls you designed using the concrete wall or wall panel type. You can choose any position and angle for this formwork section.

To create an in-wall junction for concrete walls

  1. Click Modify Design (How).
  2. On the Context toolbar, click Connections.

Note: To modify a wall, you can also double-left-click the triangle symbol indicating the viewing direction or you can open the shortcut menu of the triangle symbol and select Properties. In this case, the last function you selected is automatically set for the selected design.
Press ESC, if necessary, and select Connections.

  3. Click Manu (manual) in the Input options.
  4. You can now see a search area at the crosshairs. Click the concrete wall or wall panel for which you want to create a connection.
    Then click the wall end.
  5. Change the connection option by clicking the Previous / Next Option arrow keys. You can also click the Name of Connection button, thus opening a list where you can select a connection type.
  6. Click with the right mouse button in the workspace or click OK to confirm the selected connection type.
  7. You can make the changes to the in-wall junction manually in the dialog line. As required, enter the name of the formwork symbol, the 1st point for the formwork angle, the 2nd point for the formwork angle, the differential angle for connection, the shortening for the connection, symbol reference point and its direction.
  8. Click to confirm the entries.

Note:
If there are columns within the wall, you need to divide the wall near the columns using the Delete Section of Linear Component tool to ensure that the in-wall junction is created correctly.
