Dimension walls

Tool(s): Plan Display

To dimension walls in plan

1. Click Plan Display (How) and then Dimension walls.
   

   Activate Plan Display in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Precast Factories Precast Floor/Precast Wall

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Precast Floor

   Precast Wall

2. Click Properties and set the dimension line settings.
3. You can specify the minimum dimensions for panels and recesses in the Dimension walls Context toolbar. Panels and recesses that are smaller than these minimum dimensions are not dimensioned.
4. Enter the offset between the dimension lines as a factor of the dimension text height in the Dimension line spacing box. Enter a value in the Text size box. This value is taken into account when the panel dimensions are labeled.
5. The following functions are optional:
   • Dimension leaf thickness
     

     The program also dimensions the leaf thickness of the element you want to dimension.

   • Dimension leaf offset
     

     By enabling this tool, you can dimension the leaf offset.

   • Use one dimension line only
     

     The program only creates one dimension line including all the dimensions.

   • Dimension recesses
     

     By enabling this tool, you can dimension existing recesses.

   • Place panel dimensions as text
     

     The panel dimensions are placed as text next to the element to be dimensioned.

   • Place panel dimensions only
     

     Only the panel dimensions are placed as text next to the element you want to dimension. With this setting, you can only influence the minimum panel length and text size.

6. Click the walls you want to dimension with the left mouse button.
7. Click the right mouse button to confirm your selection.
8. Click a wall to specify the direction of the dimension line.
9. You can use the Input options to invert the arrangement of the dimension lines.
10. A preview of the dimension line is displayed attached to the crosshairs. Place the dimension line as you want.
