Define load case

Tool(s): Special Loads + Modify Special Loads

To define a load case

1. Click Special Loads (How).
   

   Activate Special Loads in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Precast Factories Precast Floor

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Precast Floor

2. Click Define Load Case on the Special Loads Context toolbar.
3. The program displays a dialog box of all the load cases. Select a load case and define the parameters.

   The following options are available:

   Load case

   Depending on the selected standard, the program automatically assigns several load cases that cannot be deleted. Click on the next free line and the program will suggest a consecutive number for the next load case. You can confirm this proposed number or enter another one.

   You can enter any of the available load types (in combination, too) within a load case.

   Load case name

   

   Load case name

   Enter a name for the current load case (e.g. dead weight, live load etc.). You can enter up to 20 characters. This is optional.

   Load factor

   

   Load factor

   You can enter a multiplication factor for the current load case. All corresponding loads will be multiplied by this factor during the numerical calculations.

   Load case display

   

   Load case display

   You can enable (Yes) or disable (No) the load case display for any load case. The load cases selected for viewing are then only displayed if load case view is on.

   Load type

   

   Load type

   Depending on the selected standard, the table contains different load types (deadweight load, imposed load, snow load, wind load and extraordinary loads).

   To find out more about an attribute, click on it.

4. You can switch the load label and the load case view on or off by clicking.
   

   Load case view

   To view only the loads that belong to the current load case, turn the load case view off.

   When you turn the Load case view on, all the loads of the load cases for which the display has been enabled (Yes) are displayed.

   

   Load label

   When you enable Load label, the corresponding numerical values are displayed for all loads (kN, kN/m²).

5. Click the Delete button to delete a load case.
6. Click OK to quit load case definition.
   

Note:
If you have set the Load case label and Load case view to on, the loads and their labels are still visible when you quit the Special Loads tool.
