To define the defaults for local file storage and export

• Allplan Exchange dialog box (How) is open.
  

  Activate the Allplan Exchange dialog box in one of the following ways

  • The Layout module is open.

  • Menu bar: Create Layout Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution

  • Toolbar: Basic Tools Layout flyout Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution
  • Palette: Tools Basic family Create area Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution

1. In the border of the Allplan Exchange dialog box, click Settings at bottom left.

   The Settings dialog box appears.

2. Select the File storage and export tab.
3. Specify the folder where the layouts and files are to be stored locally. This folder can be on your computer or on the local (office) network.

   To do this, click to the right of Path for local file storage and select the folder you want to use in the Browse for Folder dialog box.

4. Use the Create subfolders with date and time option to specify whether a subfolder with the date and time is to be created for each package in the folder for the local file storage. The files are then stored in this subfolder according to the following settings.
5. In addition, specify whether the files are to be stored in accordance with the settings for the local file storage or in accordance with the settings for the contacts.

   Save files in accordance with settings for local file storage option:
   Only the layouts and files that are specified in the distribution list of the Local file storage contact are saved; the format setting and layout filter are taken into account. Layouts and files of other contacts are ignored.

   Save files in accordance with settings for contacts option:
   The program saves the layouts and files that are specified in the distribution lists of all contacts except the Local file storage contact and automatically creates a separate subfolder with the relevant data for each contact, taking into account he format setting and layout filter. Layouts and files of the Local file storage contact are ignored.

6. The following only applies if you have selected the Save files in accordance with settings for local file storage option in step 5:
   Specify whether you want to save the files in accordance with the layout structure or without any structure.
7. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box.
